How JoulesLabs Built DeedSign, A Simple and Accessible Digital Signature Platform

How JoulesLabs Helped Build Crowdfundly_ A Global Fundraising Platform

From concept to 3,400+ global users in less than a year

DeedSign began in August 2023 with a clear goal: to make electronic signatures simple, fast, and accessible to everyone. Most eSignature tools catered to large enterprises with complex pricing and features that small users rarely needed.

JoulesLabs partnered with DeedSign to build a cross-platform signing solution focused on ease of use, transparency, and a seamless experience across web and mobile.

Challenges & Solutions

Problem Statement

The eSignature market was saturated, but underserved in accessibility and simplicity. The main challenges were:

  • Overly complex tools not suited for individuals or small teams
  • Limited mobile functionality across existing platforms
  • Confusing and expensive pricing models

The goal was to design a product that worked for both individuals and small organizations, delivering professional-grade signing without enterprise overhead.

Approach & Solution

The JoulesLabs team began from the ground up, performing deep R&D, competitor analysis, and user testing to ensure DeedSign was both intuitive and powerful.

Phase 1: Foundation and Launch
The web application launched in February 2024, followed by the mobile app in May 2024. Each release prioritized speed, usability, and real-time communication through email notifications.

Phase 2: Iteration and Growth
Post-launch, five major updates enhanced the platform:

  • UI Refinement for faster navigation and clearer document flow
  • Workspace Feature for multi-user collaboration
  • Cross-Platform Sync allowing users to switch between web and mobile without friction
  • Performance Optimization to handle large files securely and efficiently

Target Users

  1. Individuals such as freelancers and consultants needing fast, secure signing
  2. Small-to-medium organizations managing frequent documentation workflows

Primary Use Cases
Contracts, NDAs, partnership agreements, employment documents, and remote work paperwork.
